We’ve had a lovely couple of days heading back north to Stuart. All the craziness stopped once we decided to come back to home port so we are really thankful for the adventure this year, and also thankful to be back.

Marcus’ birthday was on Thursday (Happy Birthday Marcus!!) and it was a beautiful day of motor sailing from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach. Winds were 8 from the south east so we were able to have the sails up and we were thrilled at our speed. Hull speed is 7.5 and we regularly saw 8.5, 9.5, and even 10 knots with the Gulf stream.

Friday there was no wind but it was still a lovely day out heading back to Stuart. We saw a ton of flying fish on the way home, and those are very elusive to catch on video. They are fast, and the boat is moving so it’s often fuzzy, but I managed to get some neat slow-motion video. 🙂

We are happy to be back and get everything washed and cleaned up. Nice long warm showers are a treat that I haven’t fully appreciated in the past. Marcus washed the outside of the boat yesterday, and I’m cleaning the inside today and doing laundry.

I still haven’t been feeling well from the cold we had in Key Biscayne. My lungs are still gunky and I’ve had a crazy sinus headache. Even with various meds, I’ve spent the last couple of days resting quite a bit and trying to get this yuck out. So far this morning I’m feeling much better than I have and looking forward to be up and about.
